My research  interests  are Disaster Management, Tourism Studies, Environment Planning,  GIS  and  Remote  sensing  applications. I have served as Dean School of Earth & Environmental Sciences & Head Department Of Geography & Disaster Management, University of Kashmir. Presently I am Dean of the department of students welfare. I have been member of  all the statutory bodies of University of Kashmir.

I contributed actively in mainstreaming Disaster Management at higher educational level besides being part of some of important policy formulation initiatives related to Disaster Management, Tourism, Climate change and sustainable environmental planning at State and National level.
